If you think applying to college now is different from when you were in high school, you are right.
It is different.
I want to help you make sense of the college admissions process by giving you the same type of information and guidance I give to my private clients.
My goal is for you to be knowledgeable and confident as you and your child go through the college admissions process together.
Join me as I offer actionable tips and suggestions for each component of the college application, the academic transcript, standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, teacher recommendations, and the essay, with a focus on what your child should be doing right now.
Who am I?
I was a student advisor, student success coach, history teacher and librarian at Charlotte Latin School for 13 years. My favorite part of the job has always been working with students and watching them blossom into confident young adults.
I’ve been published by Grown and Flown, Today Parents, and On Parenting from the Washington Post, where I shared insights as both an educator and a mother of four mostly grown children.
Importantly, I will always be grateful to my high school guidance counselor for all he did to help me achieve my dreams. Now, I get to be the one to help my students see opportunities and achieve their dreams.
I hold a Graduate Certificate in College Counseling from UC - San Diego. I am a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling and use the College Planner Pro platform.
I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband, my dog, and a revolving door of my grown kids visiting.
